This week’s prayer requests
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
-Pray for trust in God’s character - His unconditional love and steadfastness - during times of questioning. Pray for honesty and vulnerability in prayer: that we will have the willingness to name those doubts, to surrender them to the Father, and to rest in the knowledge that the Spirit is our helper and teacher.
-Be in prayer for the Kuperus family as they grieve the unexpected passing of a loved family member. Pray that they will be carried through by God’s grace and strength, that they will find rest and peace, and feel God’s ever-present compassion and unfailing love.
-As the school year comes to a close for many of our students, pray for focus and drive to finish lessons and projects. Lift up the graduates in our congregation and communities as they stand on the threshold of new chapters in their lives. Pray that all students will have summers that are fun and restful, and that God’s hand of protection will be on them.
-Lift up those who are undergoing medical procedures or who are healing from medical procedures. Pray for nerves to be calmed, for good outcomes, and for minimal discomfort in recovery.
-Pray for our volunteers who have committed to the upcoming service project to Pennsylvania - for God to prepare their hearts, minds and bodies for service. Pray that the work they will do will have a lasting impact in the communities there.
