This week’s prayer requests

Your name, Lord, endures forever, your renown, Lord, through all generations. (Psalm 135: 13)

We pray in humility to remember and believe we have a strong and mighty Name to call upon in times of need, and a God who is gracious and compassionate to us so that we can with reverence serve Him, relying upon His forgiveness (Psalm 130:3-4).

May we each individually have the openness of heart and mind to know the comfort and compassion of God expressed through His Word, His Son and through His church. As we hold on to such grace, we pray for healing and encouragement for those facing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual trials of all kinds, and ask that as we are directed and according to our gifts and skills to also be bearers of comfort and good words of hope for those around us (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

We ask for awareness of answered prayers that we might be filled with joy; let us not forget to be thankful and to be able to see and name God's mercies at work in the world.
