This week’s prayer requests

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

-Pray for us to be anchored in Christ’s righteousness, remembering that our standing before the Lord is based on the Lamb who took our sins and our punishment, not on our own successes or failures. Pray that this truth is reflected in all that we say and do.

-Cover each of our pastors with prayer. Pray that they feel deeply encouraged, valued, and sustained by God’s grace. Pray also that God provides them with trusted friendships and mentors, protection and health, and a clear vision for the season ahead.

-In the coming weeks, pray for children, teens & young adults returning to school. Pray for any fears or anxieties to be quieted, for healthy friendships, for strength to make wise decisions, and for a year full of discovery and learning.

-Lift up those in our midst and in our communities who are quietly struggling with the loss of hope, who feel alone and lost and uncertain of what the future may hold. Pray for them to feel an overwhelming sense of Jesus’ tender love and care. Pray that we might be the ones to reach out, to be Jesus’ hands and feet and to show them that they are seen and loved.

-Be in prayer for churches around the world: for churches that face violence, oppression, and imprisonment; for the Spirit to be moving powerfully as the Word of God is shared; for Christians across cultures and denominations to be unified and on mission together to show humble service and radical love to a divided and angry world.
