Baptism
Baptism is an important part of a person’s faith journey. Q&A 69 of the Heidelberg Catechism says that baptism reminds us how Christ’s sacrifice on the cross benefits you personally: “Christ instituted this outward washing and with it promised that, as surely as water washes away dirt from the body, so certainly his blood and Spirit was away my soul’s impurity, that is, all my sins.”
We baptize infants as well as adults because we believe that baptism is the sign and seal of God’s covenant promises. In baptism, God promises by grace alone to: forgive our sins; adopt us into the Body of Christ, the Church; send the Holy Spirit daily to renew and cleanse us; resurrect us to eternal life. In the New Testament, there are examples of the whole household being baptized when the head of the household became a believer (Acts 16:31).
If you or your child would like to be baptized, you will need to take our baptism class. To get the process started, scroll down and fill out our Baptism form.
