June 2023 - Update on the Lopez Family

I hope this email finds you well and this month is starting well for you all at Alive. Receive warm hugs and greetings from all of us here in Guatemala.

This past month has gone by very quickly, so let me update you with how our School Reinforcement and Youth Ministry programs have been impacting those around us with the Good News for transformation of our community.

The school reinforcement program has been consistently incorporating discipleship into the time kids spend with us. We have been increasing the amount of time children spend in our facilities in order to: provide better assistance with their schoolwork, and comfortably implement discipleship classes once a week. 

We have also been creating spaces for growth for the parents and families we serve by welcoming them to our School for Parents. This month we had our second meeting of the year and we talked about the importance of a well balanced diet in their children's cognitive development. 

CRECER, our youth ministry program, has also been consistent in creating safe spaces for teens to meet once every two weeks. The leaders have also been able to move forward with their leadership training as we have been exploring what it means to be a follower of Jesus that goes against the normal flow of society. Our efforts for building a safe space and a nurturing community seem to have been welcomed by the teens we serve as they have been consistent in their attendance to our regular meetings.

I am including here a budget we created to reflect how the cost of running our ministerial efforts shape up for the remainder of 2023 and the first half of 2024. As I have mentioned before, Alive is not the only church that generously supports our work here, so we don't expect you all to cover every item on the list.

I'm thankful for Alive's companionship as we walk alongside our community to see it transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
