SPARK AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM
Spark is an after-school program for students in our community who are often under-served and on the margins. We provide mentorship, academic support, and most importantly a space where students know that they belong and are valued. It is our goal to grow character, develop leaders, and build community. We do this through:
- Character focused discussions
- Creating a safe space to be after school
- Building positive peer and adult relationships
- Assisting students with reading and homework
Spark takes place on school grounds of various K–6th grade schools in Hudsonville and Jenison. Spark runs throughout the school year from 3:30–5:30 pm, Monday through Friday each week, depending on location.
If you are interested in volunteering two hours a week, please contact Shana DeWent at firstname.lastname@example.org or 616.498.1429.
