Our Mission

Our Mission

The mission is clear — bringing LIFE to community.

Many people wonder what it means to be a church ‘on mission’. Where does our mission come from, and why does it matter?

At Alive Ministries, we believe Jesus has given us an amazing gift of LIFE. Through His death on the cross, Jesus paid for our salvation from the penalty of sin, allowing us to be in relationship with a holy God, and receive the gift of eternal LIFE.

But this is not just hope for the future; Jesus also gives us LIFE today.

Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;

I have come that you may have LIFE, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10 / NIV)

So what does this have to do with being on mission? After Jesus rose from the grave and prepared to return to the Father in heaven, Jesus gave His disciples this mission:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son

and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 / NIV)

That small group of followers, filled with the Holy Spirit, began to spread the good news of LIFE in Jesus across the world. As followers of Jesus today, our mission is still the same. We bring the good news of LIFE in Jesus to our community, so others may share in this LIFE – for today, and for eternity.

Our Vision

Our Vision

God is in love with our community - and so is Alive.

There is no greater purpose in life than bringing LIFE in Christ to someone who, today, is disconnected from a faith community, or maybe doesn't know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We invite you to join the journey called Alive Ministries and discover how much God loves you, and the power of being a partner with God's Holy Spirit at work in our community. Imagine the joy of being a part of changed lives - better living every day, and eternal hope for every tomorrow. We can't imagine a better thing to do with our lives.

Alive lives out the vision by CONNECTING — GROWING — and GOING. Here’s what that looks like. With risky compassion for the communities we live in,

doing whatever it takes

to create opportunities

to build relationships

with those in our community

that God is bringing to Himself

We believe we live when and where we do — on purpose. In the book of Acts, Luke said it this way:

“Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.” (Acts 17:25b-27 / NIV)

How about you? Looking for direction or purpose? Looking for a whole new life? Looking for a community that is unified in heart and mind for bringing LIFE to community? Then Alive might be the place for you.

Come along on the journey and discover real LIFE in Christ.

Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

In Essential Beliefs - We Have Unity

There is one body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all • Ephesians 4:4-6

In Non-Essential Beliefs - We Have Liberty

Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters...each of us will give an account of himself to God... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. • Romans 14:1,12, 22

In All Our Beliefs - We Show Charity

If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all. - 1 Corinthians 13:2

Our Essential Beliefs:

  • God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. • Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14

  • The world, through the choice of mankind, fell into sin and was separated from relationship with God, who is holy. • Genesis 3:22-24

  • God the Father sent His Son Jesus into the world to restore our broken relationship with Him. Jesus was fully human and fully God, and His death gave us the path for salvation. • Philippians 2:5-11, 1 Corinthians 15: 1-7

  • All people who believe in Jesus Christ, and personally accept Him as Lord and Savior, receive a restored relationship with the Father and promise of eternal life. • John 3:16, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9-11

  • From the moment we receive Christ as our personal Savior, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in us, guiding us into truth, and helping us live a Christian life. • Romans 8:9-10, John 14:15-26

  • The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is inspired by God in every word, and is our authoritative guide for faith and living. • II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21

  • The church is a community of believers called to be the body of Christ to each other and the world. • I Corinthians 12:12-27

  • Christ commissioned his church to go and make disciples of all people. • Matthew 28:18-20

Our Name

Our Name

Ever try to name a Church? It’s possibly harder than coming up with names for children.

A name says a lot about a church. We considered a bunch of names along the way. Moriah, the Trust, 30k, jubilant, crimson, the gathering, 426, and celebration center were all on the list at one time or another. At one point we looked at a building that was the former home of a store named 'save-a-lot'. It was suggested that we could just move in and keep the name! We wanted a name that fit, but we also wanted a unique name. After months of discussion we landed on the name Alive!

Here is what we love about the name, Alive Ministries:

It describes WHO we worship - When folks were looking for Jesus’ body amongst the dead, the angels said "He is not here....HE IS ALIVE" Jesus himself said "I am the Way the Truth and the LIFE"

It describes WHY we worship - You, who were once dead in your sins, have been made ALIVE through Christ. How can you know this and not go into worship mode.

It describes HOW we worship - God turned my mourning into dancing. He removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, so that my heart may sing His praises and not be silent.
