What we are all about..

Student ministries at Alive is all about relationships. Middle school and high school are years of developing, questioning, discovering, wondering, soul searching and choice making. We know this is an important and sometimes challenging time for students, and we want to come alongside them with meaningful relationships, God’s word and pizza.  We believe the life of a follower of Jesus is a holistic one that is CONNECTING, GROWING, and GOING. Our goal is that every student would be connecting to Christ and his people, growing in love for Christ and his world and going on mission into our communities. We do this practically with shared meals, large gatherings, small groups, and trips.

If you are in 5th or 6th grade this is the place for you!!

We gather right after halftime in the Student Center during the 9am service. There we will eat some tasty treats, play some ridiculous games and dive into God's word to discover what it means to love God and to love others. We will be following the same passages as the sermons so families can have great faith conversations at home.

78 is Sunday nights from 6-8PM @263. We gather in large group every other week for food, to play some games and to learn about what it looks like to be a follower of Jesus. On the opposite weeks we meet in small groups for deeper conversation and great relationships. This first semester we will be studying the book of Hebrews and who Jesus is in light of the Old Testament and what that means for our lives today.

Senior High

Senior High is for 9th-12th graders Sunday nights from

6-8pm @263. This is a party for high schoolers. We will eat some chow, play some games, and dive into Gods word. Each grade level has a small group with a leader that will guide and encourage them on their spiritual journey. Small groups meet every other week for longer discussions and to build long lasting relationships.

This semester we are going to walk through the book of Romans, and through large group teachings and small group gatherings we are discovering who we are in light of Christ.

What To Expect

Here is what you can expect when you check out students@alive.

  • The Party

We call our regular programming a party because it is a gathering, but it is so much more than a gathering, it is a party! It is a celebration of what God is doing in our lives and in others lives. God is all about throwing parties for people who come to follow Jesus. So that's what we are going to do. The party consists of eating some chow, playing some games, and spending some valuable time in God's word and unpacking it in large group teachings and small group conversations.

Fifty6 meets Sunday mornings during 1st service after halftime in Student Center

Seventy8 & Senior High meets every Sunday from 6-8pm @263

(alternating Large Group & Small Groups)

  • The conversation

Small groups are all about relationships. We believe that it is very important for every student to have a caring adult to come alongside them in their journey and small groups is the place for that. They are places to be goofy, to talk, to laugh, to cry, to connect and discuss what really matters in life and build relationships along the way. We believe the conversation is important, and we call them small groups.

  • The Word

Every other week we will gather in a large group to hear from God's word. We gather to pray, to learn and to grow together as we encounter the gospel.

56- love God and love others

    78- Jesus

SH- What does God say about_______?

  • The Food

Every Sunday night we will gather around the table and share stories, laughter, and connect over delicious food! There are very few things that students and student leaders love more than food. If this is something you want to be a part of, we always need people to bring meals!

  • Trips & Service

Trips are an incredible opportunity to experience something new, build deeper relationships and to encounter God in new ways. Trips are an important thing that we get to do together while we get to learn what it means to go and serve our communities.

  • Get connected!

Baptism and Profession of Faith

We love to celebrate milestones and when students want to make an active step to proclaim their faith as their own! The way we do this is if a student would like to be baptized or go through profession of faith is that they would go through a book called "I Believe" with an adult mentor in their life (that they choose). It is an 8 week study that helps walk them through some of the bigger concepts of the Christian faith, and helps them develop their own profession of faith statement. Once they have been through the process we get to celebrate the joy that comes with it as a congregation! If you would like to do Profession of Faith at Alive, or a student would like to be baptized contact evan@aliveinjenison.org
